A message from our founder and CEO:

Kabul Center for Strategic Studies is dedicated to nation building in Afghanistan.  The Center was founded in 2007 by Afghans interested in creating an independent, democratic state that will guarantee the rights and liberties of all Afghan citizens.

Afghanistan faces the challenge of having to build a modern and just nation out of a country devastated by  decades of foreign adventurism, interventions, civil war, and chaos. 

KCSS aims to advance and accelerate this process by providing in-depth and independent research and analysis produced by Afghans.  The international community has enabled Afghanistan to begin the process of nation building, and we are grateful for that help.  But we at Kabul Center believe that now is the time for Afghans to begin assuming full responsibility for the creation and building of the civil society and democratic institutions we need in order to create the kind of future we can proudly hand down to our children and grandchildren.

This is why we started Kabul Center for Strategic Studies.   We want to develop local experts to make sure we Afghans develop the necessary skills and expertise needed to deal with the political, military, and domestic issues we face as a nation. 

We believe that the best way for the international community to help us now is to employ our research and consulting services and demand the same level of expertise and depth you require from your own experts.  In this way you can help us develop the types of local experts we need to run our own government, NGOs, and businesses so we can develop our economy and build the type of civil society we need to support a genuine democracy.
